When on School Grounds

Supervision

Supervision begins 15 minutes before class starts. At that time, children are permitted on the school grounds. All children should be off campus within 10 minutes after the last bell rings. On rainy days, students may go directly to their classrooms unless directed otherwise. Running is not allowed on the sidewalks for safety. Students, staff and visitors are expected to avoid disruption by quietly passing classes in session.

Do Not Bring

Animals

For the safety of everyone, animals are NOT allowed on campus. This includes bringing dogs or other animals on the campus when dropping or picking up your child. In addition, animals are not to be tied to the front or back gates while picking up your child.

Personal Home Items

Some classrooms have sharing times for students; however, students must never bring anything that is harmful or dangerous to school including knives, razors, lighters, matches, toy guns, or harmful substances such as tobacco, alcohol or drugs.

Nothing should be brought to school, other than school supplies, without notifying the teacher and requesting permission in advance to bring it. Any items deemed disruptive (including toys or fidget spinners) will be confiscated by school personnel. The District is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged items.

Chewing Gum

Chewing gum is not allowed on school grounds.

Student Phone Usage

Cell Phones and other Electronic Signaling Devices

Students may bring cellphones to school if allowed by the student’s family.  Phones must be off during school hours and during PrimeTime. Student cell phones are not to be used during school hours or on campus for any reason other than an emergency (ie. earthquake, fire, etc), including lunch and recess times.  Adams Office Staff and Primetime Staff will allow students to contact their families (via a school phone) in the event that they are not picked up on time or need confirmation regarding which family member is picking them up.  Students who do not follow the rules will lose their cell phone privileges.  Your child’s teacher may have additional policies regarding cell phone use.  If a student uses their cell phone or electronic device on campus, they will be taken from the student and returned only to a parent/guardian.

Please make sure that all electronic games and devices are not brought to school.  If they are lost or stolen, it is the student’s responsibility. Theft or loss of such devices will not be investigated by school personnel. Students bring such devices at their own risk.

Students and parents are reminded that during an emergency situation, cellular sites may be overwhelmed due to a high volume of calls. Should this occur, emergency communication could also be affected. It is important that cell phones and other devices be used sparingly so that emergency services have priority to assist the students and staff on the site.

Student Telephone Calls

Arrangements for after-school activities, obtaining required books and homework, glasses, lunches, lunch etc. should be taken care of in the morning before the student leaves home.
