The main objective of Ally Action is to help change the climate needle from a culture of bystanders to a culture of allies.
Ally Action is District program in many SDUSD schools that support student leadership opportunities and community building. These young leaders will examine the dynamics of power, how power is wielded, what “advocacy” means, and to explore various actions that help others when they need it most. Ultimately, this team of leaders will be tasked with training their peers throughout the school after they’ve been trained in the Ally Action program.
The initial phase involves training the student leaders. The second phase engages these leaders with student participants in individual classroom presentations over the course of the remainder of the year. Meetings will be facilitated by the school Counselor and Mick Rabin with the Office of Youth Advocacy.
